Spider-Man Brand New Day - Sony Pictures

Marvel fans, it is time to face the music, and the absolute isolation of Peter Parker. Sony Pictures has finally dropped the trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and it looks like our friendly neighbourhood hero is going through a massive existential crisis.

Following the memory-wiping events of his last outing, Peter (Tom Holland) is fighting crime full-time in a world that completely forgot he exists. Watching MJ (Zendaya) and Ned (Jacob Batalon) move on with their lives from afar is taking a heavy toll. The teaser hints that this emotional pressure triggers a dark, internal transformation that Peter might struggle to control. Honestly, who can blame him?

However, this unsettling change might be his only hope against a terrifying new threat: an invisible villain terrorising New York City.

Under the direction of Destin Daniel Cretton, the ensemble cast is spectacular. Alongside returning stars, we are getting Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo. The dynamic between Peter’s isolation and a massive MCU crossover potential is brilliant. It feels grounded, slightly tragic, yet incredibly high-stakes.

The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but cinema audiences certainly will not when this lands in theatres on July 30. Tickets are on sale now.
