Canadian guard joins Ballarat Miners for NBL1 South season

The Ballarat Miners have signed Canadian import Jaden Campbell for the 2026 NBL1 South season.

The 6-foot-5 guard arrives from Europe after averaging over 16 points a game in the Czech league.

Campbell has also trained with Team Canada and featured in the NBA Summer League with the New York Knicks.

The Miners open their season on March 28 under the guidance of new coach Ray Borner against archrivals the Bendigo Braves.

Meantime, a club legend and all-time games-played holder is returning to a coaching role with the Miners.

Eric Hayes has been appointed as the Under-20 men’s team coach in the Victorian Junior Basketball League for the upcoming season.

Hayes has previously been senior coach of the women’s and men’s program as well as the Youth League and Junior Rep program.
