Trash and treasure hunters are in for a treat this November, with a town-wide Garage Sale Trail event taking place across Smythesdale and Scarsdale on Sunday 2 November from 8am to 3pm.

Organised by local resident Melanie Whillance, the day promises plenty of treasures to discover as residents open their driveways and sheds for one big community sale.

Visitors can pick up a printable map of all the registered sales from the event web page or collect a printed copy from the Smythesdale Supermarket on the day, making it easy to plan a fun day of bargain hunting.

There’ll be plenty to enjoy along the way: The Smythesdale CFA will host a Sausage Sizzle fundraiser for the local Fire Brigade, with Tanker, FCV & Rehab vehicles on display, mini tanker races for the kids, a Community Safety stand, and colouring pages for children. Birdsong Nursery will be open with coffee, cakes, lunch, and the chance to chat with their cheeky cockatoo or say hello to the miniature donkeys.

The Courthouse Hotel will be open for visitors to relax with a meal or refreshing drink after exploring the trail.

It’s the perfect day out to explore Smythesdale and Scarsdale, enjoy the country charm, and hunt for hidden treasures while supporting the local community.
