FAITH,HOPE AND LOVE Ballarat Choral Society has a long and revered history of over 120 years.
While it specialises in Classical music (Religious and Secular) it often takes on more challenging compositions by Contemporary Australian Composers such as the marvellous ‘All is One and One is All’ by Matthew Orlovich recently performed with Didgeridoo and Percussion at Her Majesty’s Theatre’s mighty Birthday Celebration.
Every year a major work from Classical repertoire is performed and during May 2025 performances are planned for both Ballarat and Geelong audiences.
This year we will be performing Antonin Dvorak’s Mass in D Major Op 86 and W. A. Mozart’s Te Deum in C Major, a work in the same spirit,- Sunday May 18th at 2:30pm at Christ the King Cathedral, 49 Lydiard St, Ballarat and Sunday 25th May at 4pm at the Basilica of St Mary of the Angels, 178 Yarra St, Geelong.
The Mass will feature the Ballarat Choral Society with Conductor Helen Duggan and the superb Ballarat acapella group VOX providing Soloists, semi chorus, and augmenting the choir, with Beverley Phillips on Organ.
VOX will also perform some Bruckner Motets.
They have recently performed Messiah in both Ballarat and Melbourne.
