If you think it has been a damp start to winter, you’re right.
Ballarat had a wetter and warmer-than-usual June, with 116 millimetres of rain recorded — nearly double the long-term average.
It was also warmer than normal with both daytime and overnight temperatures about one-and-a-half degrees above normal.
Our warmest day for the month was just shy of 17C our wettest was 25mm on the 5th.
Meantime, despite June’s rainfall total in Ballarat being 85% wetter than normal, our water storages have not improved all that much.
Central Highlands Water says that combining all our reservoirs in Ballarat we’re sitting at 47% full, that’s 1% less than this time last year, and up .8% since last week.
Daylesford’s supply is sitting pretty at 100% capacity.
