The Victorian Greens have got on the front foot locally ahead of November’s state election.
Today, they’ve named Sam McColl as their candidate for the Ballarat seat of Eureka.
His media release states he is a renter, front line emergency services worker and long-time community volunteer.
On his agenda will be housing affordability, access to healthcare in regional areas and protecting local environments and waterways.
“I’ve lived in regional Victoria my whole life, and this community means a lot to me.”
“I want to make sure the voices of people here are actually heard in Parliament,” Mr. McColl said.
It comes a week after current Ballarat councillor and former Tony Abbott advisor Ted Lapkin put his hand up for the Libertarian Party also in Eureka.
Labor MP Michaela Settle currently holds the seat after winning by a margin of 9.6% at the last election.
