After having kids, McConaughey and his wife, Camila Alves, tried sleeping with two king-size beds pushed together so their little ones could sleep with them. But he quickly realized it came at a cost.
He realised that when he woke up in the morning his wife was “20 feet’ away,” adding, “Not productive for snuggling.”
Married to Alves since 2012, McConaughey believes switching to a queen bed strengthened their connection. “Drop down to a queen-size bed, it’s good for your marriage,” he concluded.
The couple shares three children, Levi, 17, Vida, 15, and Livingston, 12.
McConaughey’s new book, Poems & Prayers, released on Sept. 16, marks his first foray into poetry. The collection explores themes ranging from his New York Times bestselling memoir Greenlights to navigating faith.
