Ballarat’s Matt Short has been named player of the match in Adelaide Strikers Big Bash win at Adelaide Oval.
Short’s match high knock of 84 helped set a target of 185 for the Sydney Sixers.
It proved an unassailable total, Sydney finishing the team’s 20 overs 7 for 133, giving Adelaide a 51 run victory.
Early in his innings, Short survived the BBL’s historic first-ever DRS challenge.
After being ruled lbw, Short successfully reviewed the decision, television replays confirming the ball was missing the stumps.
It was the Strikers first match of the 2022/23 BBL season, Short is back in action tomorrow night against the Sydney Thunder.
