12 Inches Of The 70's The Trammps

I really wanted to find an extended mix of a disco song that I love so much, and I found this!

 The Trammps- Disco Inferno!

First let's talk about the song:

  • Disco Inferno was recorded by The Trammps
  • It comes off their 1976 fourth studio album of the same name
  • It was supposedly inspired by a scene in the 1974 blockbuster film The Towering Inferno
  • With two other cuts done by the group, the song reached number-one on the US Billboard Dance Club Songs chart in early 1977
  • But sadly the song had limited mainstream success
  • Until 1978, and that was because it featured on the soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever (from 1977), that re-release hit number eleven on the Billboard Hot 100 chart
  • On September 19, 2005, "Disco Inferno" was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame
  • It's been covered over the years by many people but the main ones I want to mention are Tina Turner who released her version in 1993 and Cyndi Lauper who covered it in 1998

There is a 10:54-minute album version from Saturday Night Fever soundtrack:

But there is a 6 and a half minute version which I will play today:
