Shanna Whan, CEO of Sober in the Country
In 2014 Shanna Whan was a high functioning alcoholic but time was running out as she spiralled out of control. After hitting rock bottom, Shanna turned things around with the help of her husband and friends and now lives a sober life.
She realized there was a message that was missing from the Austrlian culture particualy in the rural areas, "It's OK not to drink". She has since started a movement called, "Sober in the Country" which has now officially become a national charity as of November 2019. Her compelling story featured on the ABC's Australian Story and she spoke with Garrath on Ballarat Today.
