It ain't pretty .. and it ain't cheap.

Wet wipes being flushed down toilets are costing Central Highlands Water $100,000 a year, as sewers across the region get clogged and waste water spews into the environment.

This picture was taken in Geelong Rd, Ballarat.

We caught up with CHW's Jacqui O'Neill, who is begging locals to simply put their wipes in the bin
