Locals in Gordon are upset about the lack of consultation on a $350,000 revamp for Main St and the proposed loss of 21 mature trees.
Yellow ribbons have been tied around species - including oak trees - as a visual reminder of what locals could lose.
We caught up with petition organiser Dina Bowman, who says Thursday's public meetings will take place at the Gordon Hall from 3pm and 7pm, to cater for people with young families as well as commuters.
