Bowel cancer affects men and women, young and old, and Ita Buttrose has many concerns for us Aussies! 

Ita Buttrose has taken on the role of Patron of the Jodi Lee Foundation to raise awareness of the prevalence of bowel cancer and what you should do to prevent bowel cancer.

Ita, lost a brother and a close woman friend to the disease, and she spoke to Ballarat Today, encouraging people to talk about their bowel movements.
Here are a couple of stats in regards to bowel cancer: 
  • Australia has one of the highest rates of bowel cancer in the world
  • 1 in 13 Australians will develop the disease in their lifetime
  • It is Australia‚Äôs second most common cancer
