On display on the Victorian coastline tonight!!!
Aurora australis, one of the most beautiful night time displays is happening in Victoria and Tasmania tonight.
Touted as Australia’s northern lights, Aurora australis is best seen from Antarctica, Tasmania and the southern coastlines of mainland Australia.
So for us here in Ballarat, we may see the spectacular and colourful night-time event, but if you’re keen to make sure you don’t miss out, possibly head south towards the coastline for a better view of the lights. (A little birdy told me, you can get a good view in the Grampians also).
The best view will be around 3am on Friday morning as the display will be boosted by the lack of moon light.
