What's Happening This Weekend In Ballarat!

You can never say that Ballarat is boring any given weekend, especially with events like this being held this weekend. 

Jekyll and Hyde - Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Jekyll and Hyde will be freaking out the masses at the Wendouree Performing Arts Centre, thanks to the Ballarat Lyric Theatre.

Even though it's a musical, warning, the content in this show will not be suitable for children.

There are nightly shows up until Sunday from 8 to 10:30pm, and matinee shows from 2 to 4:30 pm.

Ballarat Backyard Tasters - Friday.
The first Backyard Tasters of the month means free live music from five local bands/artists, food trucks and explore the latest exhibitions in the Backspace Gallery, enjoy a glass of wine from the cash bar and taste quality food while being entertained by local talent. 

This one kicks off at Alfred Deakin Place tonight from 5:30pm.

Kryal Castle's 'Mounted Skill at Arms' competition - Saturday.

Kryal Castle's will be super busy with a full day of 'mounted skill at arms' and jousting Saturday. 

There will also be a mounted archery display, and the Royal Joust.

Be there from 10am to 4pm tomorrow for all the action.

Mountain of Fun Run - Sunday.

Help raise some money this Sunday morning from 8:15 by climbing Mount Warrenheip.

There's a 6k track, or you can all the way and take on the 12.5km challenge to the top.

It begins at the Dunnstown Rec Reserve. Details here.


Clean Up Australia Day - Sunday.

Gather up the whole family and get down to the Yarrowee Walking Trail, near the Prest St Bridge from 10am Sunday.


Ballarat Autumn Festival - Sunday.

The Ballarat Autumn Fest will be held at the Ballarat Community Garden - on the corner of Dyte Parade and Queen Street, Ballarat East.

Enjoy music, food, kids activities, a mini market, and bee-keeping advice!

Autumn Clunes Makers' Market- Sunday.

Check out all the fabulous items made by many locals, there's more than 60 stalls for you to browse.

They’ll also be food stalls, live music and entertainment for all ages.

Bring a picnic rug to make the most of the grassy setting at Clunes Show Grounds, Victoria St, Clunes.

And it will only cost you $5 for a Family or $2 for a Single.

All money raised at the gate will be donated to a local organisation.

Lake Burrumbeet FREE Family Fun Day

To be held at the Lake Burrumbeet south shore, access via Cuthberts Road.

There's so much for everyone to enjoy with: THE ROOKEEPERS- Lil' Monsters Face Painting Ballarat- CFA (Country Fire Authority) information trailer- Glenelg Hopkins CMA 'Discover Water Bugs'- Wadawurrung Country walk and talk- Fishing Information.

So pack a picnic, the kids in the car and enjoy the beauty of Lake Burrumbeet at this free family event!

Autumn Festival @ Ballarat Community Garden

Visit the garden, enjoy some music, yummy food and good company in a wonderful community space.

There will also be plants, preserves and produce for sale, food & drinks too, children's activities, beekeeping info, gardening demonstrations, meet some fellow Gardeners and a raffle!

All funds raised go to keeping the community garden alive.

It's free entry, and it will be held on the corner of Dyte Parade and Queen St Ballarat East Sunday from 11am till 3pm
