A temporary dropp off centre at Morshead Park allowing Ballarat residents to donate goods to the Ballarat Winter Appeal has closed.
The appeal has been vital for locals doing it tough this year, with the COVID-19 Pandemic making it even tougher for them to get through winter.
City of Ballarat Mayor, Ben Taylor said the drop off point has been a huge success and donations can still be made at the Salvation Army in Eureka Street.
"Ballarat has been amazing as a community to come together," he said.
"Six and a half thousand items that were dropped off at the two points - so that was the Library as well as Morsehead Park,
We got over $5000 in donations from Malayalee Association plus also private residents as well dropping off money - and that's been able to be used to buy food and personal items to be distributed."
