The Chief Executive Officer of Ballarat Community Health says locals can expect to lose $1.1 million dollars per week when Poker machines are re-started in the city later this month.
Sean Duffy says the number is so large it's hard to get your head around.
"It's data that's been increasing and we watch it very closely. It's a figure that's very concerning and you can only imagine the impact that it has on families." Mr Duffy said.
Pokie venues have already re-opened in New South Wales, the Northern Territory and South Australia.
It's estimated the closure of the machines since March 23 has saved Australians $2.5 billion.
