One of Ballarat's most treasured cultural icons reopens it doors today.
After a 3 month closure the Art Gallery of Ballarat will re-open this morning, July 1st.
Speaking to Radio Ballarat Gallery Director Louise Tegart says running a public institution without the public has been strange.
“We have set up a booking system of free timed tickets to limit the number of people in the Gallery at any one time, and to ensure the strict social distancing, contact tracing and COVID-19 cleaning regimes can be followed,” she said.
Anyone interested in visiting the Gallery is encouraged to go online to the Gallery website.
The opening comes as the gallery closes its Cafe. Kittelty's have chosen not to renew their lease and a new operator will be sought via a tender process.
