A  man in his 20s  has arrived at  the Royal Melbourne Hospital  in a critical condition with a long list of  injuries after his Commodore smashed into a tree on Remembrance Drive at Cardigan.

  
Emergency services were called to the straight stretch of road   just before 9am.

 
Police believe speed may have been a factor in the accident.
