The City of Ballarat's annual report has revealed how much council gets every year from parking around town.

All up, council received close to $7 million worth of revenue from parking fees, fines and charges last financial year, which is an increase of close to $900,000 on the previous financial year.

It's the single biggest section of cash council takes in when it comes to user fees, which brought in just $25 million in total.

Rates however are still singlehandedly the biggest financial boost to the council budget, with nearly $117 million all up.
