Ride Like a Girl is racing towards double digits at the box office.
The film about local jockey Michelle Payne has officially become the highest grossing Australian film of the year.
The biopic, directed by Rachel Griffiths, raked in close to $4 million in its first eight days in cinemas.
So far, after only being officially released two weeks ago, Ride Like A Girl is boasting a total of $5.67 million at the box office, beating out other Australian films released this year, including Storm Boy and Top End Wedding.
The movie's next milestone will be hitting $10 million dollars, with exhibitors predicting it won't be long before it gets over the line.
