The City of Ballarat has come out as a major winner, receiving $130,000 in grant funding from the Victorian Planning Authority.
The funds will help council with two key redevelopment projects, the largest being the plan to redevelop the area around the Ballarat Train Station, which has received $90,000.
Council also received $40,000 to help develop tools to manage and stregthen Ballarat's character in the CBD.
Mayor Samantha McIntosh says the funding will help with the two crucial projects in the city.
"This is a great start, and Council will continue to seek further funding opportunities through State and Federal governments to deliver these two Ballarat CBD projects,” she said.
There was $4 million on offer all up from the VPA as part of their Streamlining for Growth program, with more than half being awarded to councils across regional parts of Victoria.
