Vacancy rates in Ballarat are in line with the Victoria's regional average, according to new figures.
Data from the Real Estate Institute of Victoria shows that in August the vacancy rate for rentals in Ballarat was sitting at 1.5 per cent.
The average rate for rental vacancies in Victoria is two per cent, while in regional parts of the state, that figure drops to 1.5 per cent.
REIV says the rate in Ballarat reflects the high demand for rental properties in the area, due to the affordability and ability to commute to Melbourne with ease.
The lowest rate in the state is in Mildura-Mallee with a vacancy rate of just 0.9 per cent, while Bendigo's vacancy rate sits at 1.1 per cent.
