Detours are in place at Lydiard St North this morning as a fault has caused the boom near the Ballarat train station to cut off the road to traffic.
A V/Line spokesperson says the fault occurred in the early hours of this morning, some time around 4am.
Traffic is being diverted to cross at the nearby overpass instead, with pedestrians having to find another way across.
The fault has caused no disruption to the trains however, with a worker at the station confirming trains are running as normal.
V/Line says they are working to rectify the issue as soon as possible.
