The hotly anticipated theme and program for White Night Ballarat has been unveiled this morning.
This year, 76 local artists will show their creative skills with 59 unique works on display, inlcuding Wathaurung arist Aunty Marlene Gilson.
With the theme of 'lighting a spark', White Night Ballarat is shaping up to be the biggest and best incarnation of the event yet.
Creative director David Atkins says Ballarat is a city with an excellent creative canvas, and notes that the heritage buildings provide projection screens steeped in history.
White Night Ballarat will also showcase the works of local emerging and established artists with special needs, which will highlight the power of language and how they affect our emotions.
Mayor Samantha McIntosh says White Night is a great tourism boost for Ballarat that has been over 100,000 people flock to the city to see the artwork up close and personal.
Ballarat won't host another White Night for three years, with the event to tour other regional cities, including Bendigo and Geelong.
White Night Ballarat will run on September 21 from 7pm to 2am.
