A New South Wales man will return to court today after he refused to accept jail time for drug trafficking at Lexton's Rainbow Serpent music festival.

Carrick Dalton claimed he had a ketamine addiction when he last appeared in court in May and wasn't trafficking the drug at the festival.

The 25 year old faces six drug-related offences, including trafficking ketamine, and possessing ecstasy and GHB.

He will return to the Ballarat Magistrates' Court today to provide documents that show his drug addiction.
