New data released by Public Transport Victoria has revealed the Ballarat line met its punctuality target last month.
The punctuality target for V/Line trains is 92 per cent, which Ballarat has surpassed for the first time since October 2016 at 93 per cent of trains being within 5 minutes of on time.
Only 25 V/Line trains were cancelled on the Ballarat line last month, up slightly from the 23 that were cancelled in June.
The cancellation rate on the Ballarat line was slightly lower in July too, down from 2.1 per cent in June to 1.9 per cent in July this year.
It's the lowest cancellation rate on the line since August 2017, which sat at 1.5 per cent.
The figures show a noticeable improvement in the Ballarat line this year, which hit a low of 82.9 per cent of on-time services in April, the lowest result since June 2018.
The Ballarat line was the fourth-most reliable V/Line service in the state last month, behind Swan Hill and Echuca at 97 per cent, Shepparton at 95.5 per cent, and Seymour on 93.2 per cent.
