Today is the last day to enter a local competition to name a new swan sculpture.

The three metre high sculpture has been created for a new housing estate in Ballarat's north by Dutch artist Folko Kooper.

The swan is a homage to those that call the Midlands Golf Club and Lake Wendouree home, and is made out of corten steel.

It will soon have a new home at the Drew's Paddock Estate at Invermay Park, and Villawood Properties are hoping they can call the swan by a name.

There's plenty of prizes up for grabs for the catchiest name, icluding an MCG Family Golf Membership worth $1,800 and a $200 Don's Kitchen meal voucher, or a $500 Stockland Wendouree voucher.

Organisers have stressed that Swanny McSwanface is not an option.

You can enter your top picks and go in the running for the prizes at drewspaddock.villawoodproperties.com.au.
