Two teenage boys accused of murdering a Maryborough man will stand trial later this year.
The pair faced a four day hearing in the Children's Court this week over the death of John Bourke.
The body of the 45 year old Bourke was found in his Derby Road home in Maryborough by a neighbour on July 15 2018.
Bourke suffered from osteogenesis imperfecta, commonly known as brittle bone disease, and could easily suffer fractures from little to no trauma.
Forensic pathologists say Bourke died as a result of head and face injuries caused by blunt force.
The teenagers have pleaded not guilty over the death, and will return to court later this month for a directions hearing before the trial begins.
