A Sebastopol man is yet to be charged after yesterday's police pursuit across Ballarat.

A detective from the Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit has confirmed this morning the 27 year old remains in police custody after he fled the scene of a crash in Wendouree on foot, before he was arrested in Forest Street a short time later.

He is wanted over a number of aggravated burglaries in Hoppers Crossing and Wyndham Vale on July 31 that have  seen a 23 year old Ballarat man, 18 year old Sebastopol woman, and 18 year old Linton man charged with a string of offences, including motor vehicle theft, criminal damage by fire, and aggravated home invasion.

The three appeared in court on August 1.

Wyndham CIU detectives also confirmed this morning that the Sebastopol man that is currently in custody is also the man who was videoed lying on a car roof while it was driving through Ballarat's CBD a week ago.

He is currently still assisting police with their enquiries into the aggravated burglaries.
