A 27-year-old man has been arrested in Wendouree and is being questioned by police after a car and foot pursuit which ended in Forest St just before 10am.
The Sebastopol man was driving a stolen Holden ute which collided with a mini-bus on Howitt Street carrying 9 people - many of them with special needs.
Police say none of the people in the van have been seriusly injured but paramedics have confirmed 2 people have been taken to St John of God hospital in a stable condition.
The 27-year-old is the fourth person to be arreted over a series of alleged aggravated burglaries in Hoppers Criossing and Wyndhamvale on Wednesday July 31.
Two other men and a woman were charged by Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives last week and appeared in court on Thursday August 1:
** A 22 year old Ballarat man was charged with 22 offences including aggravated home invasion, aggravated burglary, theft from a motor vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle, obtaining property by deception, criminal damage by fire (arson) and reckless conduct endangering life;
** An 18-year-old Linton man was charged with 7 offences including theft of a motor vehicle, reckless conduct endangering life, driving in a dangerous manner, speeding and unlicenced driving;
** and an 18-year-old Sebastopol woman was charged with 3 offences including theft of a motor vehicle and handling stolen goods.
Witnesses reported seeing the blue ute driving erratically in Sebastopol and in Doveton St this morning.
