Central Goldfields Police have a new piece of equipment on their side when it comes to catching badly behaving drivers.
The Highway Patrol's new car, similar to that pictured above, has been decked out in the latest automatic number plate recognition technology.
It can help police catch drivers who are disqualified, unlicensed or suspended behind the wheel, as well as detect stolen cars and fake number plates.
The new technology can scan around 5,000 numberplates in a ten hour shift, and checks every car it drives past.
The new high-tech car rolled out onto the streets earlier this month.
