People with ideas to reduce the state's road toll are urged to get to the first in a series of Regional Road Forums tonight (Wednesday).
The event kicks off at the Ballarat Soccer Facility at Morshead Park from 5.45pm.
Another will be held at the Bendigo RSL on September 3.
Government and community leaders will be there a well as road safety experts.
Ideas will be considered in the next Victorian Road Safety Strategy.
** Meanwhile, a Ballarat motorcycling riders group is expected to have a strong presence at the venue tonight to lobby against a proposal to lower the rural road speed limnit from 100km/h to 80km/h.
Rural drivers have reacted against the idea, saying it would extend travel times in isolated areas and that it is an excuse not to repair crumbling roads.
