Frustration for food retailers after power outage

Armstrong Street food retailers have spent another lunchtime in the lurch after experiencing a power outage yesterday.

Two outages have occurred this week alone, with power cutting off both times during the lunchtime rush, around 1pm.

The power outage has seen businesses unable to carry on with typical activities, including processing transactions, serving customers, and cleaning up and washing dishes.

Powercor have said the outage was due to a fuse activitating in the local network, and added that they will be continuing to carry out minimisation work to try and reduce the number of outages businesses in the area experience.
