Woman in her 70s flown to Melbourne after Cardigan crash

A woman in her 70s  has been flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital after a 2-car accident along Ballarat's  Avenue of Honour.

The first calls came in at 1.29pm to an area in Cardigan about 600m from the Skipton Rail Trail. 
A Ballarat CFA rescue crew  have cut a person  out of a grey Corolla sedan. 
Paramedics say the woman  has upper body injuries and is in a serious but stable  condition
Remembrance Drive has been closed in both directions for much of the afternoon  between Lucas and Cardigan.
