Local cyclist Nick White has been chosen to represent Australia in the Tour de l'Avenir in France.

The tour is considered as the under 23 equivalent to the Tour de France over much of the same course, and runs from August 15 to 25.

He makes up part of Cycling Australia's six man team, which also includes Alexander Evans, Kaden Groves, Sam Jenner, Liam Magennis, and Michael Potter.

White is seen as a rising star in the Australian cycling world, after winning the Roadnats Under 23 men's title in January, held in Ballarat.
