Some residents in Clunes will experience a planned power outage today.
Powercor is installing a new bushfire mitigation device which is designed to reduce the risk of powerlines sparking or causing faults in power supplies, should they come into contact with the ground or a tree limb.
The outage is estimated to affect around 200 people in Clunes from 7am til 4:30pm, with around 1,000 more people going without power for an hour between 3:30pm and 4:30pm this afternoon.
To prepare, Powercor says they have already already notified all customers who will be impacted by the outage.
Further outages are also planned for Clunes residents on June 13 and 20.
