Busy weekend for police with car fires, break ins

Police have had a busy weekend with more vehicle break ins and car fires.

Four cars in Sebastopol were broken into on Friday night, with various items taken, after the vehicles were parked in Victoria Street, near the Bowling Club.

CCTV footage is being looked at by police as the investigation continues, while police are reminding locals to be vigilant and not leave their vehicles in public car parks overnight.

Meanwhile, the first car was found tourched in Wilson Street, Ballarat East, shortly after 10pm on Friday night.

The second car was found burnt near Nerrina in bushland shortly after 5:30am on Saturday.

Both cars had been reported as stolen to police earlier.

While two more cars were also found burnt on Saturday, with one at Bummumbeet, and other alongside the Western Freeway in Nerrina. 

It's unsure at this stage if the fires are connected.
