Law Week is back for another year, and locals who want to learn more about our legal system are encouraged to take part in a CrimeBuster event right here in Ballarat.
Deakin's Law School is putting on the free event in collaboration with the Sentencing Advisory Council, Victoria Police, the Adult Parole Board, and local legal services in Ballarat, Sheparton, and Geelong.
The CrimeBusters bus will be in Ballarat on Tuesday, with sessions running from 1pm to 7:30pm, which includes a presentation from Victoria Police's Cold Case unit on how they solve crimes.
Locals also have the chance to hear from Deakin Associate Professor Theo Alexander, the barrister for Bourke Street killer James Gargosoulas, who will be interviewed about defending the mentally impaired.
The Law Busters session in Ballarat is free, and will be held at the Ballarat Town Hall at 225 Sturt Street.
