The City of Ballarat is asking for feedback on the impact of all forms of gambling on the local community.
It's part of the Ballarat Interagency Taskforce on Gambling Harm, which wants to learn about the type of gamblinglocals engage with, how often they gamble, how available gambling is, and the impact of gambling within the community.
The Taskforce includes the City of Ballarat, Ballarat Community Health, Ballarat and Grampians Community Legal Centre, Central Highlands Primary Care Partnership, Compassionate Ballarat and YMCA, and has been established to help reduce the harm of gambling in Ballarat.
Mayor Samantha McIntosh says the council is encouraging everyone to have their say, as it will help inform the Taskforce, and ultimately help shape the policy put forward by the Council.
Last year more than $56 million was spent in Ballarat on poker machines alone.
The Community Attitudes to Gambling Survey is available online at mySay Ballarat, and will close on Sunday 26 May.
Hard copies of the sruvey are also be available from the City of Ballarat's Customer Service Centre in the Phoenix Building, and Ballarat Community Health's Sebastopol and Lucas locations.
