A man accused of a brutal assault in the early hours of the morning earlier this month on Lydiard Street faced court yesterday.
The 36 year old has been charged with recklessly and intentionally causing injury, as well as unlawful assault.
It's alleged he approached the victim who fell over after leaving Reid's Guest House and stomped on his head, which rendered him unconscious almost immediately and left him with bruising on his brain.
It's also alleged he then walked away from the man, before coming back and kicking the victim's head, then heading to catch an airport shuttle bus from Ballarat Station.
He has been denied bail, and will re-appear in court in July.
