A reward is on offer for anyone who provides information that leads to a 1968 HK Monaro being found.
The classic vehicle, which shares a similar resemblance with the photo shown above but is not the vehicle in question, was stolen from a house on Lydiard Street North near the cemetery between 2am and 4am today. The car was stored in a garage, behind a locked gate, and was parked behind another vehicle.
The thieves cut the lock on the gate before smashing the windows on the the car in front of the Monaro to move it out of the way, before pumping up the tyres and driving off in the vehicle.
The 1968 Monaro was in the process of restoration works, and had been sanded back in preparation for paint, leaving the car a muted grey colour and giving it a distinctive look.
It has no plates due to it only being a restoration project at the time.
Anyone who has spotted the vehicle or has any information regarding its whereabouts is urged to contact Ballarat Police.
