Crocmedia CEO Craig Hutchison and former AFL players Terry Wallace and Adam Cooney were in Ballarat yesterday for the launch of AFL Nation on 3BA.
Wallace and Cooney are both part of the AFL Nation set-up based in Melbourne.
Hutchison said Ballarat is a very important place to the company because it's where they started their broadcasting.
"In the early days Ballarat was and will always be an incredible part of our culture. I love this town so much, it's such a part of the AFL Nation history, it's a very special place to us," Hutchison said.
"We literally ran out of the 3BA building, we would employ Ballarat people, we would be here every weekend broadcasting, staying overnight at the George Hotel. We would send our signal accross the State until we had our own studios and premises."
Nick Riewoldt will join the AFL Nation team this season, along with Ballarat's own Danny Frawley, Anthony Hudson and Gary Lyon.
The AFL season gets underway on March 21st at the MCG, when Carlton take on Richmond.
