The date for George Pell’s appeal against his sexual assault conviction has been set.

The appeal will take place on June 5th  and 6th.

The 77 year old was found guilty in December of sexually assaulting two choir boys in the 90’s.

He is currently in custody and is due to be sentenced next Wednesday.

That verdict was made public after months of secrecy due to a suppression order, and the abandonment of a second trial over allegations Pell indecently assaulted boys in Ballarat in the 1970s.
