Hundreds of residents have gathered at the Buninyong Town Hall for a community meeting after the bushfire was brought under control late last night.
A Watch and Act for Durham Lead, Grenville and Scotsburn remains in place.
The fire started yesterday afternoon, fire crews were able to stop the spread of the fire and blacking out will continue throughout the day.
The Relief Centre located at the Buningyong Leisure Centre will be open today until 5.00pm and will be providing a range of information to residents.
People are being urged to stay alert due to the changing weather conditions.
Vic Emergency says staying close to a building you can shelter in is the safest option as conditions can change suddenly.
