Power has been restored to Ballan homes and businesses after a B double truck hit a power pole and brought down power lines.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Stead and Inglis Streets outside Hudson's Hotel at around 5.20pm yesterday (September 13).

Two live wires were seen hanging over the tanker with Highway Patrol officers closing the entire block to traffic, while Powercor arrived on scene to disconnect the line, cutting power to 122 customers and at nearby St Brigid's Primary School which was hosting a children's art show fundraiser and had to be shut down early.

CFA were also in attendance, supplying lighting to fix the pole, while paramedics assessed the truck driver who had no obvious injuries.
