A 22 year old Wendouree man is fronting Ballarat Magistrates Court today (Mon 12 Feb 2018) after being charged with two counts of aggravated burglary and the possession of a controlled weapon (knife).

Ballarat police have also questioned him over at least 16 reports of car tyres being slashed around Lake Wendouree overnight, however he has not been charged over these incidents.

It's alleged an address in Webster Street was broken into while people were home at 12.50am.

At 2.30am it's alleged another aggravated burglary was committed in Wendouree Parade.

Ballarat detectives say the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information should call Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
