After a decade of being known as The Rush, Ballarat's elite women's basketball program is set for a name change.
The NBL1, Youth League and all Junior Elite teams will now be known as The Ballarat Miners based on a 'one club' philosophy.
“Embracing a one club philosophy and unity across our Elite Basketball program from Juniors all the way through to the senior rank is important, as we continue to develop an inclusive culture and build our club brand," Chair of Basketball Ballarat and former Lady Miner player, Kim Holloway said.
Along with the change, a newly redesigned team logo has been revealed which features symbols of history with the Miners pickaxe and the Rush ball logo coming together as one.
The team, originally formed in 1984 was first known as the Lady Miners.
