Ballarat locals will be able to access Sovereign Hill for next to nothing during October.
One-dollar entry tickets will be offered to locals every Thursday and Friday, however regular prices will apply on weekends.
Museum treasurer Craig Fletcher says people must live in postcodes 3350, 3358 and 3363 to qualify.
"It's about celebrating the fact we are in this new stage to give back to the Ballarat locals becasue we have a great place for people to come together and reconnect," he said.
CEO Sarah Quon says the museum is keen to show love and appreciation to Ballarat for the ongoing support it's
received as it waits for Melbourne to come out of lockdown.
“COVID has been tough for so many," she said.
"As it has so often before, the Ballarat community really pulled together through our recent lockdown.
"This is an opportunity for Sovereign Hill, as part of the community, to be a place where people can reconnect and enjoy themselves.
"It is such an important time to connect with friends, families and loved ones and Sovereign Hill is
the perfect, local place to do this.”
