Ten thousand extra Covid-19 vaccines will be sent to Ballarat over the next two to three weeks.
It comes ahead of a major vaccination drive in light of the recent outbreak which sees 6 cases in Ballarat as of this morning.
Grampian's Public Health Unit medical director Dr Rosemary Aldrich says it’s not yet clear where the Pfizer doses will be allocated.
"What we do know about vaccination is because of what's happening in Ballarat now 10,000 extra doses will be available to the community of Ballarat and surrounds over the next three weeks."
"So clearly, how we are going to use that vaccine will be the subject of discussions that are underway now," Dr Aldrich said.
Meantime, Ballarat’s list of exposure sites has grown to more than 20 as contact tracers try and chase down the Covid spread.
The UFS pharmacy in Sebastopol is the latest to be added as a Tier 2 site, it joins the CBD and Delacombe pharmacies.
Ballarat's Myer and Target stores have also been listed.
